Installing a termite chemical barrier is a long term way of protecting your home.
Chemical is placed around the home either by drilling holes in the concrete slab or by digging a trench around the perimeter of the home. Chemical is then pumped into the drill holes and flooded through the trenches.
A barrier works so effectively because it creates a complete chemical barrier around the entire perimeter of the home. This means termites attempting to gain entry into the house will be killed by the chemical.
Two top of the range chemicals are used in barriers at Sandgate Pest Control. Termidor This is a non repellent chemical, which means the termites don’t know it is there and they walk straight through the chemical. Termidor then infects the termites with a virus which they can carry back to the nest and pass along to other termites. This means an entire nest can be indirectly eradicated. www.termidor.com.au
Bifenthrin This a repellent chemical, which means the termites know it is there and hence avoid it. However if they do walk into the chemical it will kill them instantly.
