Installing a termite chemical barrier is a long term way of protecting your home.

Chemical is placed around the home either by drilling holes in the concrete slab or by digging a trench around the perimeter of the home.   Chemical is then pumped into the drill holes and flooded through the trenches.  

A barrier works so effectively because it creates a complete chemical barrier around the entire perimeter of the home.  This means termites attempting to gain entry into the house will be killed by the chemical.

Termidor
This is a non repellent chemical, which means the termites don’t know it is there and they walk straight through the chemical.  Termidor then infects the termites with a virus which they can carry back to the nest and pass along to other termites.  This means an entire nest can be indirectly eradicated. www.termidor.com.au

Bifenthrin
This a repellent chemical, which means the termites know it is there and hence avoid it.  However if they do walk into the chemical it will kill them instantly.
